Job summary
An opportunity has arisen at Epsom and St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust for a highly motivated dynamic technician to join our education and training team in a brand new role.
You will lead on the Education and Training of all Pharmacy Technicians, Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy technicians and Pharmacy assistants, planning and developing the education and training programmes for these staff groups and thus facilitating their career progression and ensuring they meet the statutory and mandatory training requirements of the Trust. You will be an ACPT facilitator, and work in Patient Services as an Accredited Pharmacy Checking Technician contributing to the delivery of dispensing services as required. You will work closely with the Principal Pharmacist Education and Training to stimulate and encourage and role model life long learning for the pharmacy team
You will work in liaison with the Principal Pharmacist for Education and Training coordinating E+T within the department including stimulation of CPD and promotion of a learning environment within the pharmacy. You will ideally hold the appropriate NVQ assessor award or be an experienced assessor and have a proven record of management of staff/services. You must have hospital pharmacy experience, be interested in and be able to demonstrate good understanding of NVQ, have good communication skills and excellent motivational skills.

- To implement, maintain and review education and training and continuing professional development programs for Pharmacy staffinvolved in the supply of medicines.
- To undertake the day-to-day line management and responsibility for Pre-registration Trainee pharmacy technicians.
- To coordinate the NVQ level three training for pharmacy services or other relevant qualifications.
- Coordination of the NVQ Level 2 or equivalent GPhC approved training programme for Pharmacy Support Staff across the Pharmacy department and to ensure timely completion and achievement of this award.
- To implement education and training programmes for pharmacy support staff. This includes delivery of training for Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians and Assistant Technician Officers
- To provide technical support and supervision to the dispensaries, and ward-based clinical services and to contribute to other activities in the pharmacy as required.
- Deliver training to contribute to the development of pharmacy staff in each rotational area across Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.
