Job summary
To be a leader in the provision of a high-standard Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy Service. To provide clinical and operational support for the Physiotherapy team on a day-to-day basis. To assist with the strategic development of the MSK Physiotherapy service. Provide clinical expertise, acting as a first-contact Musculoskeletal (MSK) practitioner, making decisions about the best course of action for patients' care. To further develop personal advanced practice. This role is within a rotation scheme across MSK services and GP practices
Main duties of the job
Highly Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist / FCP Band 7
We are looking for an MSK therapist to provide First Contact MSK care within primary care and team leadership in our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Service. The candidate will provide clinical and operational support for the MSK team.
You must be innovative, organised, computer literate and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to continued personal development.
There will be development opportunities in line with the Health Education England recommendations for First Contact Practitioner and Advanced Practitioners in Primary Care. The successful candidate will be working towards completion of stage 1 or completed Stage 1 of the FCP roadmap. if you are ready to further your career from band 6 to band 7, please apply, as we consider your application.
The post is based in the Sutton area working across GP surgeries, hospital and community physiotherapy sites. You must be able to meet the travel requirements of this post.
You will have the opportunity to work within an innovative MSK service which promotes collaborative working acrossall levels of expertise including the Advanced Practitioners. This is a great learning environment, regular clinical supervision, in service training and well defined escalation and patient care pathways.

- Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal portfolio demonstrating postgraduate education/courses in MSK Physiotherapy
- Working towards a recognised relevant Masters Degree in MSK or evidence of working at an equivalent level
Desirable
- Membership of the CSP
- Formal or post graduate courses in leadership and management
- Working toward MACP membership
Experience

- Minimum 5 years post registration experience of which 2 years are in MSK
- Experience in the management of complex MSK conditions
- Good understanding of the current challenges facing the current health economy and implications for Physiotherapy
- Good working knowledge of all areas of clinical governance and experience of undertaking clinical audit
- Experience of operational leadership
- Experience of strategic development
