The expectations within this job description will be met through hands on clinical practice, education and training and research.To post holder will ensure that high quality nursing care is delivered within their designated clinical area.The post holder will support the standards of clinical practice, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.Duties of the PostThe post of a qualified nurse is characterised by six principle role functions:- Clinical Practice- Advanced Clinical Skills- Professional leadership and management- Education training and development- Evaluation of care and research- Human ResourcesThe balance between practice and management will vary according to day to day priorities, but will be negotiated overall with the Lead Nurse/ Senior Nurse.

You will find that it is a role that is incredibly rewarding. Britten Ward isan18beddedAcute Stroke Unitwith 4of these beds set up as a HASU (hyper acute stroke unit). Each of the HASU beds have access to cardiac monitoring with nursing support provided to an extremely high standard 24 hrs a day. We take direct admissions from A&E for all suspected stroke presentations and those who have received thrombolysis and/or been repatriated following thrombectomy. Croft Acute stroke unit is a 24 bedded unit which provides care for stroke patients from age 18 upwards from different boroughs across south west London and Surrey.We take direct admissions from A&E for all suspected stroke presentations and repatriations from St Georges Hospital.
