Job summary
The post holder will:
- Assume operational leadership for Radiology services across the Trust, in line with best practice and national standards.
- Provide direct line management of the Modality Lead Superintendents across Plain Film, CT, MRI, Interventional Radiography Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine and DEXA and Quality Management
- Have worked as an advanced Radiographer practitioner in one or more radiographic modalities with significant experience and knowledge to provide and facilitate an expert level of care to patients, ensuring staff are supported with the appropriate resources and level of expertise.
- Have extensive knowledge and experience of managing radiology waiting lists and responsible for delivery of all national standards in imaging DM01,RTT, cancer and emergency standards..
- Experience of management of national diagnostic standards DM01 for all key modalities including RTT and cancer waiting standards.
- Lead on roster and rota (24/7) management of busy radiology department.
- Lead and manage demand and capacity planning.
- Support Head of radiology on contract management for all radiology equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring all staff training and competency are managed in line with CQC requirements.
- Responsible for delivery of radiology projects with stakeholder engagement.
- Provide operational, financial, performance and quality management for the areas of responsibility.
Deputise for the Head of Radiology
Main duties of the job
- Support the Head of Radiology in the development and delivery of the Radiology Department operational plan. This will include analysis of a range of complex information.
- Support the Head of Radiology in the development of capacity plans for the radiology department and be responsible for ensuring the radiology modalities meets its obligations within the capacity available.
