Job Title: Clinical fellow in multi-professional simulation and human factors
Hours of Work (p/w): Full Time (40hrs a week) Pay scale MC51 - MC53
Start Date: Aug 2022
Contract: Fixed Term 12 months (possibility of extension)

Come and join our multi-professional, ASPiH accredited simulation team and develop your skills in teaching, facilitation, debriefing, human factors, quality improvement and much more.
This one-year fixed term contact is suitable for all junior doctors who have completed Foundation Level Training, and who are interested in supporting and developing multi-professional simulation-based education. The post holder will work with the wider simulation team to design and deliver multi-professional simulation-based education to a wide range of participants including medical students and foundation doctors as well as specialist teams in obstetrics, paediatrics, neonates, acute medicine, general medicine and surgery. Alongside this work the post holder will have the opportunity to work on wider Trust level patient safety, human factors and quality improvement projects.

- Act in a supportive and constructive educational manner to ensure the provision of high-quality education, training and development to a variety of professional groups, including doctors, nurses, midwives, AHPs, support workers and undergraduates.
- Support the senior simulation team in their role managing the day to day running of Simulation service and ensure in their absence that a high-quality simulation service is provided and maintained.
- Act as a clinical expert on many common medical and surgical clinical issues relating to the development and delivery of various simulation courses.

- Senior Medical Staff
- Other staff groups
- Work as an effective faculty member, act as a role model and develop from novice to intermediate/advanced level in debrief skills
- Work with relevant stakeholders to scope out and develop appropriate course aims and objectives that can be delivered effectively within the course programme, ensuring equal learning opportunities for all participants.
- Assist in the production of audio-visual educational materials for Trust and wider use.
- Engage in informal peer review and participate in the SLSN quality assurance programme
- Engage in research and projects and present academic work at local and national events
- Represent simulation at internal trust level meetings and external events. Present and promote simulation to the wider simulation community and other groups to ensure the Trust is well represented.
- Assist to raise the profile of simulation within the Trust including social media and other communication mediums
- Learn how to use the basic functions of the manikin, audio-visual equipment and virtual classroom or meeting management
