Do you have an area of interest you'd like the support to develop, and the autonomy to develop it? Would you enjoy working within the beautiful county of Wiltshire?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 (preceptorship)/8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to provide an essential role into our community mental health team in North and East Wiltshire (NEW) and support the wider Wiltshire Psychological Therapies Service. The role is primarily based in Chippenham and Devizes, but provides clinical services to the older adult population throughout Wiltshire.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and highly motivated to provide an excellent evidenced-based psychological service within a changing environment. They will have experience of working with individuals in later life with complex and enduring psychological difficulties, and cognitive impairment, and they will have a proven commitment to the development of later life services. Older adult work is known for being varied and benefitting from a holistic approach, and would be keen to support candidates who are interested in working integratively.
Working as part of the Wiltshire PTS (Psychological Therapies Service) and CMHT offers the opportunity to work with a range of presenting difficulties. This means that you can maintain your skills across a diverse client group, and further develop specialist interests, such as neuropsychology or complex emotional need.
We are an enthusiastic and innovative team which values the input andcontribution of all our staff, and strives to offer the best services possible to our service users. As the provision of supervision, consultation and training to other colleagues within the service is both highly valued and an essential part of the role, being able to demonstrate skill and experience in this area would be an advantage.
