Would you enjoy working within the beautiful county of Wiltshire?An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 (preceptorship) / 8a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist to provide an essential role into our community mental health team in North and East Wiltshire (NEW) and support the wider Wiltshire Psychological Therapies Service. The role is primarily based in Chippenham and Devizes, but provides clinical services to the older adult population throughout Wiltshire.

As the provision of supervision, consultation and training to other colleagues within the service is both highly valued and an essential part of the role, being able to demonstrate skill and experience in this area would be an advantage. We would particularly value experience and/or training in neuropsychology and a range of therapeutic models.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated to provide an excellent evidenced-based psychological service within a changing environment. They will have experience of working with individuals in later life with complex and enduring psychological difficulties and cognitive impairment, and they will have a proven commitment to the development of later life services.

Working as both part of the Wiltshire PTS and the CMHT offers psychologists the chance to treat a range of disorders and presenting difficulties. This means that you can maintain your skills across a diverse client group, or further develop a specialist interest, such as neuropsychology.

As the provision of supervision, consultation and training to other colleagues within the service is both highlyvalued and an essential part of the role, being able to demonstrate skill and experience in this area would bean advantage. We would particularly value experience and/or training in CBT, DBT, MBT, CAT or ACT and groupbased working.
