Job summary

Teign is the 12 bedded Women's Service within Fromeside medium secure unit in Bristol.

As a registered nurse you will be supported and challenged to consider and develop your future career pathway. You will work closely with service users, family & friends and colleagues to provide high quality individualised care. In exchange we provide strong service specific training and developmental support.

The ward works from assessment to discharge and sees a highly varied and complex clinical mix affording the opportunity to build a wide skill set rooted in a safe basis of high quality risk assessment and management.

You will be a registered nurse with a passion to support women whose, often, traumatic life experience have found them within the criminal justice system.

We have a strong practice development and preceptorship support ethos across the service believing that how we treat our staff is in line with our expectation of their support to service users.

As a unit we have been and remain actively involved in national reducing restrictive practices and are part of the South West Forensic Provider Collaborative footprint.

As an inpatient ward we provide 24/7/365 cover so working a full rotational shift pattern is essential. We would welcome discussing any special working requirements you may have to explore mutually beneficial solutions. To reduce and safely manage incidents on the ward completion of AWP's RRI training is essential.

Main duties of the job

To carry out clinical practice within designated clinical areas, ensuring that high quality evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, interventions and evaluations for patients is provided.
