Job summary
AWP Specialised Services have embarked on an exciting journey to provide the first NHS Gambling Service for the South West of England. This new team provides treatment to people who want help with their gambling as well as their families and significant others.
We have a position available to deliver specialist psychological interventions to people seeking help for gambling, in a trauma-informed manner. The roles will involve assessment, formulation and treatment, drawing on CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Family Interventions, both in group and individual formats. The role involves working as part of the MDT, participating in relevant meetings and processes, and supporting our wider network of partner organisations.
As Gambling services are a new development for the NHS we will be providing comprehensive training from national experts in our core interventions to support you in your role. There will also be opportunities to get involved in research and evaluation related to the service to help identify how the service will evolve and develop. The team will mainly be working virtually but with regular in-person meetings.

Main duties of the job
1. To provide trauma-informed, psychological therapy services to the South West Gambling Service
2. To assess and treat a specialist workload of clients and maintain associated records.
3. To participate in Continued Professional Development and other developmental activities.
4. To undertake Research and Development and clinical audit.
5. To clinically supervise trainees, assistants and team members as appropriate to level of experience.
6. To offer consultation to staff, teams and other services in relation to Gambling Harms.

- To work jointly with colleagues within the Gambling service offering consultation, case management and case-based discussion and providing expert advice
- To participate in Gambling Service referral processes and meetings.
- To participate in generic team duties as agreed by the Operational Manager and Clinical Lead as appropriate, to the needs of the service.
- To participate in clinical and caseload supervision arrangements provided by the Service.
- To maintain accurate records and to monitor clinical workload using agreed systems.
- To ensure timely recording of all data required by the Trust.
- To support the full implementation of care planning as appropriate to the needs of the service.
