Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join the Swindon LIFT Psychology (IAPT) service as a qualified CBT Therapist. LIFT see clients that are presenting with depression and anxiety disorders and has a strong reputation for the LTC (Long term health conditions) work that we do with our clients. This role will involve delivering our high-intensity CBT interventions.
As part of our team, you will be able to attend our annual IAPT conference, with our fellow AWP IAPT services (BANES and Wiltshire), in which we invite speakers for CPD sessions. LIFT Psychology also hosts two team days each year (summer and Christmas). These are opportunities to come together as a team, receive CPD, focus on service development and reflect on the achievements of the year. At LIFT we place a high value on our staff team and their wellbeing, with regular team social events, a staff book club and a focus of wellbeing throughout the work that we do.
You will also receive regular supervision and an extensive programme of CPD opportunities to ensure your continued learning and development while you are working as part of a clinical network within a large Mental Health Trust.
As well as delivering high quality therapy, we offer the opportunity to become involved in co-facilitating step 3 courses and provide in-house training with additional support to help you develop in this role. We also encourage our therapists to develop specialisms to help with our service delivery.
Main duties of the job
Relevant experience and a passion for working with those with mild to moderately severe anxiety and depression is a key requirement of the post.
You should have the relevant IAPT qualification or equivalent and have access to your own transport, as you will need to be independently mobile and able to travel to different locations in Swindon.
To provide individual and group psychological therapies for people with a wide range of psychological presentations.
To offer regular Clinical supervision (both individual and group) to peers, trainees and other staff.
To help offer a highly specialist and entirely autonomous evidence-based therapy service to the established LIFT service in Swindon.
To provide an advanced and specialist assessment and treatment role in the sectors, using relevant CPD qualifications for clients presenting with high levels of distress/emotion/behavioural disturbance.To undertake regular teaching, as appropriate, in psychological approaches to relevant staff including trainees and team members.To assist in the planning and implementation of service developments regarding specialist areas of skill linked to service priorities in collaboration with local Clinical Managers. (e.g. long term conditions, complex needs).

To comply with the Behavioural and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, Counsellors in Primary Care and British Psychological Societys Code of Conduct as well as procedures and government legislation, as it applies to the service.

To support the Clinical Lead in the development and implementation of effective Clinical Governance across the Service.
When required to support and participate in multidisciplinary clinical audit in the service.
To promote the use of effective interventions in the service.
To participate in Clinical Governance processes in the Service and in the profession.
General
To participate in liaison meetings with GPs and other members of the Primary Care Health Teams as appropriate.
To participate in audit and personal review activity as required.
To compile and return statistics and activity levels as required.
To undertake such further training as might be required to maintain an appropriate level of expertise.
To participate in individual and peer supervision.
To be aware of and comply with all policies, procedures and directions of the department, service and Trust.
When required to participate in the research activities of the service.
To participate in disseminating good practice by publication and presentation.
To train other staff as appropriate.
