Amblescroft South Ward, Salisbury needs you
Amblescroft South is looking to recruit Staff Nurses to work in our purpose built short-term Mental Health Older person's assessment unit specialising in the assessment of organic illness. This is an active, enjoyable and rewarding Staff Nurse role within a team applying person centred assessment for people experiencing changes in needs due to Dementia.
Opened in 2003, Amblescroft South is based in Salisbury and provides assessment facilities for 20 patients from the Wiltshire locality.
The ward is divided into specialist areas (Zones) based on clients needs, gender and diagnosis. Amblescroft South predominantly focusses on the assessment and treatment of patients with organic illness.
The client centred nature of our approach enables the Multi Disciplinary Team to provide an individualised, needs led service, for both clients and carers.

Amblescroft South is a short stay ward providing assessment and support to people with Dementia and those around them.
Our goal is to enable our service users to make the best use of their remaining abilities to gain self - respect to be able to make choices and to keep hold of their independence.
We know the importance of seeing the whole person, listening to what they are saying through their behaviour and placing their feelings at the forefront of their care.
Main duties of the job
This exciting role requires you to plan, provide, communicate and evaluate the care outlined within each person's behavioural support plan. Alongside providing direct care, you will be assisting in admission screening, performance compliance and discharge planning. You will model best practice to other staff and provide support through supervision.
As a team, we are committed to supporting staff who are newly qualified, experienced or returning to nursing. We would welcome candidates with an interest in the application of current research, psychosocial models of care and environmental adaptations.
