Band 6 Occupational Therapist (Full time or Part time considered) Beechlydene ward, Fountain Way, Salisbury
We are currently looking for an experienced, innovative Occupational Therapist in Wiltshire to join our friendly, supportive team. You will have the opportunity to develop and provide a therapeutic provision to Beechlydene ward, a 21 bed acute admissions ward for adults of working age in the acute phase of their mental illness.
This post will involve being an active member of the multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on developing meaningful person centred care plans and delivering these in the ward environment and community. You will have the opportunity to supervise our Band 5 OT and Band 3 support worker in his OT apprenticeship and have regular clinical support from the Occupational Therapy Lead.
There are exciting opportunities for service development within AWP. The OT team are currently developing the sensory provision on inpatient wards. Beechlydene is one of 4 psychiatric specific wards in Fountain Way; located centrally in Salisbury, and there will be opportunity to work on other wards. There are supportive links with the OT team across the site offering opportunities for networking, working across wards, CPD, regular supervision and training.

Main duties of the job
- To provide high quality Occupational Therapy service and be professionally accountable for a designated caseload
- To work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team attending ward rounds, Care Programme Approach meetings, discharge meetings and providing timely feedback
- To provide standardised and non-standardised specialist assessments and interventions, delivered 1:1 and in groups, to inform care needs assessments, promote independence and recovery
- To delegate and supervise the work of junior colleagues within the service.
- To support the service with the prioritisation, planning, development and delivery of a high quality occupational therapy service in accordance to Trust and OT goals
