Job summary

The Bristol Inpatient Occupational therapy team are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Team Lead, to take forward the management and development of their work.

The Team are an enthusiastic and dedicated group who use developmental assessments and models to standardise their practice across the hospital. They are also keen to establish links with community resources to facilitate the sustainable pathway following discharge.

Being an inspirational leader, practicing and sharing evidence based clinical practice while also motivating others to deliver a high quality service.

The successful candidate will provide formal supervision and informal day to day guidance for team members, and will work alongside side other senior OTs to clinically lead the team. The candidate will work also work alongside the Callington Road Management team and will play an active role in the development of services in line with local developments and the Trust's strategy and Business Plan

Main duties of the job

To carry out clinical practice within designated clinical areas focussing on people with complex needs ensuring that high quality evidence based occupational therapy assessment, treatment planning, interventions and evaluations for service users are provided. This is with the aim of enabling service users to achieve their maximum level of function and independence.

You will be managing and leading a team so the role will include some management and leadership duties.

.To work with the Trust-wide Head OT group to contribute to the delivery of the Trust's OT strategy.

To contribute to the development and planning of services specific to the post's designated areas.

Working with finance team and contributing to budget meetings to agree best use of resources.

Take an active role in recruitment and retention of staff and day to day management of staff.

Undertaking Supervision and appraisal

Working with staff to support students.

A challenging part of this role Trying to plan therapeutic interventions for an ever changing client group. Policies and Procedures Trust employees are expected to follow Trust policies, procedures and guidance as well as professional standards and guidelines. To maintain and develop professional knowledge skills and expertise to ensure that therapy reflects best practice remains evidence based, is current and responsive to meet changing service user and NHS needs to include:-

Abide by the Code of Ethics and professional conduct for Occupational Therapists and HPC standards.
