Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for you to be a part of a growing and successful Psychological Therapies Service (PTS). As a member of the PTS, you will be part of a thriving team with a range of experience in different therapeutic modalities, as well as opportunities to access training to support your professional development. Whilst a member of the PTS, our team members are embedded within a base team, in this case the West Wiltshire Community Mental Health Team (covering Warminster, Trowbridge and Devizes), encouraging strong and valuable relationships, working alongside other professionals to ensure that the best possible care is provided to those we support.

We are an enthusiastic and innovative team who value the input and contribution of all our team members, and strive to offer the best evidence-based, person-centred, service possible to our service users. As such, we currently offer a range of therapies including CBT, EMDR, CFT ACT, DBT, CAT, Integrative, Schema focused, Mindfulness, and Solution focused ways of working, in both group and individual contexts.

This role will appeal to a Psychologist or CBT therapist keen to utilise and develop their experience of delivering evidence based and NICE concordant therapy, within a supportive environment. Applications are invited from suitably qualified staff. We would also consider applicants coming to the end of their clinical training who are looking to start, or continue, their career here in Wiltshire.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a compassionate, thoughtful and enthusiastic psychologist or CBT therapist to join our friendly, close-knit team. We would welcome a practitioner who can demonstrate an interest in working with service users with severe and enduring mental health difficulties, and a commitment to improving their wellbeing, through direct evidence-based clinical interventions and, or supporting others to ensure care-plans are psychologically-informed. We would particularly welcome someone with an interest in building the provision of evidence-based practice in an area of their interest (psychosis, trauma, mood disorders, or personality disorders).

The successful applicant would be well supported and supervised by a Senior Clinical Psychologist as well as benefitting from the wider support of the PTS and CMHT. If the successful candidate is a CBT therapist, their supervision will be provided by a BABCP accredited practitioner, ensuring they are supported to apply their valuable and transferrable skillset to a secondary care population.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be able develop your skills, as well as shape and improve the psychological provision for patients with complex conditions.
