This is an exciting opportunity to join our Transport Team.
We are looking for someone who has excellent customer service skills and a strong attention to detail who can help us deliver essential medication / PPE / Post and Bloods around the Wiltshire / Bath / Bristol area.
A vehicle will be made available for use.
Shift times are between the hours of 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday with the opportunity to work Saturdays also.

We're looking for an experienced multi drop light commercial driver holding a full UK driving licence to join our Trust wide transport team, providing a safe and professional service.
The role will include collecting and delivering pharmacy items from our Pharmacy Hub in Calne and Bristol, to our sites on a daily basis. & other ad-hoc deliveries & collections as required
Successful candidates will:
- be able to work with limited supervision to deliver services in line with schedules and protocols.
- You will have experience of dealing with members of the public and naturally deliver a professional service to all.
- demonstrate a flexible, responsive and self motivated approach to your work.
- be a reliable and enthusiastic member of the transport team.
Vehicles and uniform are provided.

Job responsibilities
The Transport Team has a number of drivers who collect/deliver medication and other essential items around the Wiltshire/Bath/Bristol area. We work closely with other departments in our Trust to ensure a smooth and reliable service is maintained.
Drivers Duties and Responsibilities
- To undertake driving duties in accordance with the schedules set down by the Transport Department and any other driving duties as requested by the Transport Officer.
- To be smart in appearance being polite to all customers internal or external.
- To load and unload vehicles as necessary using sack trucks or other nominated lifting aids as deem appropriate to be able to move goods to and from the Vans and the nominated areas of pick-up / drop-off.
- To produce on request a current driving licence with no more than six penalty points.
- To drive the vehicle safely and sensibly adhering to the Road Traffic Act and regulations currently in force.
- Driver is liable for any prosecution notices for speeding / parking etc that arise from when they are responsible for the vehicle.
- Responsible for own allocated vehicle (subject to variation).
- Completion of Weekly Vehicle Inspection Sheets, (Tyres, Oil, Water, Fuel, Washer bottle, Lights etc).
- Responsible for the vehicles upkeep internally and externally (ie washing and cleaning).
- Report any defects on the vehicle immediately, to the Transport Officer.
- To keep all statutory vehicle and driving records.
- To manage, record and organise delivery/collection documentation.
- To report any R.T.A. (road traffic accident) to Transport Officer, and complete any necessary documentation in relation to the accident.
- To report to the Transport Officer any issues affecting the schedule of work.
- Adherence to the Mobile Phone & No Smoking Policies.
- To park the vehicles sensibly. Adhering to any local site parking regulations during collection and delivery, and on return to base.
- To ensure the vehicle is returned to the base address at the end of every day. Vehicles are not permitted to be taken home unless authorised.
- To ensure that nothing is left in the vehicles overnight. Vehicles must be emptied at the end of every shift.
- Use own judgement as and when necessary when asked to take specific extra items / packages, asking for advice and backup on any decisions that are made, if necessary.
- Ensure that all Pharmacy Control Drug Bags are delivered directly to the nominated ward/building and are signed for by a senior member of staff, or specific nominated staff as designated on the schedule.
- Responsibility for items left in the vehicle whilst parked and ensure that these are not left open / unlocked at any time whilst not driving.
- Ensure that all Specimens are contained within the specified containers and that specialist Pathology supplies are signed for and the books returned to Pathology.
