Job summary

Julie and Ciara are looking for a dietetic assistant to join the Eating disorder inpatient team based at Blackberry hill Hospital.

We are looking for someone that is interested in helping patients with eating disorders meet their nutritional needs.

STEPs Specialist Eating Disorder Inpatient Unit is an AIMS Accredited ward which specialises in providing outstanding care for patients with eating disorders.

The unit has also been awarded Team of the year in 2017 and 2021

We are looking for someone who is well organised, works well in a team and has good communication skills. A background in nutrition is essential, a background in Eating Disorders is not essential but an enthusiasm to learn is required.

Support will be through the brilliant supervision structures we have in place. Through this support there is the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in eating disorders, and in your role as a dietetic assistant.

Main duties of the job

Run menu group, Food shop for ward,Daily liaison with catering

Nutrition Group,Practical Skills, Take patients on snacks and meals out, meal support on 1-1 bases and in dining room,Liaising with OT/ Dietitian re: tasks around portioning/ cooking/ supermarket visits

Weighing's/ MAC on Monday - collect data/ calculate BMI/ complete wt charts.

Working with dietitian to manage paperwork

Graduated discharge work, admission and discharge calls

Project work, e.g. implementing a vegan menu, nutritional analysis on menus, scoping snack options

Ward staff/ catering team training

CPD - join Ali and Ciara for nutrition-focussed work/ supervision.
