Job summary

This is a new opportunity to practice psychology in a leadership role thanks to 'community mental health framework' funding. We are looking for someone with expertise and significant experience delivering psychological interventions to people with psychosis and bipolar mood disorder. You will be the lead for this treatment pathway in Wiltshire, under the supervision and line management of a consultant clinical psychologist. As well as providing expert treatment and supervision, you will be forging links with local education providers to grow the research profile of this clinical area, and to offer training to other staff.

At AWP we actively encourage applicants from all backgrounds; we are particularly keen to encourage applications from people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, those with disabilities and from the LGBTQ+ community. We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge to AWP, as diversity makes us stronger.

Main duties of the job

Based within either a community mental health team (CMHT) or an early interventions for psychosis (EIP) team, you will be expected to provide in-depth and expert assessments, formulations, and interventions for adults with psychosis. You will provide training and supervision to other qualified psychological therapists and psychologists to deliver evidence-based interventions. The role will include becoming involved with research conducted by universities and funding bodies, to improve our understanding and treatment of psychotic conditions.

You will line manage a small, but growing team of psychologists and psychological therapists, that specialise in this clinical area.
