Job responsibilities

Clinical

To provide clinical leadership and clinical expertise in the field of psychosis, bipolar mood disorders, and delusional disorders.

To provide clinical expertise in the field of the treatment of trauma in people with psychosis.

To offer highly specialist clinical psychology assessment, and treatment to clients under CMHTs or ARMS and EI services.

To work effectively with families and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate support and NICE concordant interventions.

To provide supervision and consultancy to the EI team and broader psychosis pathway as appropriate with regard to problem assessment and formulation, and therapy interventions.

Leadership

Provide operational leadership to the EI pathway and all psychological practitioners working in the pathway and represent psychology at senior levels where appropriate.

To offer caseload / management supervision to a range of staff as delegated.

To carry out other operational tasks as delegated.

To participate in the development of an effective team and the development of productive working relationships throughout the Trust.

To advise, encourage and share knowledge utilising the latest research and practice development, through literature and peer reviews.

To contribute to trust wide strategy and implementation of the delivery of psychological therapies for people with psychosis.

Clinical Governance

To promote equitable access to evidence based psychological therapies for people with psychosis within ARMS, EI and across the psychosis pathway.

To lead, support and participate in clinical audit to demonstrate and evaluate the effectiveness of psychological therapy provision.

To implement systematic outcome measures and evaluation across the pathway.

To effectively manage waiting lists for access to psychological therapies within EI to ensure timely access to psychological therapy.

To be responsible for auditing and evaluating within the pathway. This will include reviewing people who do not engage with the service, and those who drop out, to identify ways of ensuring that the service is accessible and responsive to diverse needs.

Training and Staff Development

To provide clinical supervision to Trainee Clinical Psychologists and qualified Psychologists / psychological therapists.

To develop a robust and sustainable supervision structure across the psychosis pathway to support the delivery of high quality NICE concordant Psychological Interventions.

To provide specialist supervision (CBTp, FI and EMDR) to a range of staff.

To offer training in Psychological approaches to Psychosis, Trauma Informed Care and the treatment of Trauma in Psychosis to other staff in the multidisciplinary team, to staff from other parts of the service and trust wide as appropriate.

• Doctorate in clinical or counselling psychology

• BABCP accreditation

• Experience of working with adults with psychosis

• Experience of working with adults with 'at risk mental states'

• Experience of supervising qualified clinicians in psychological therapy
