The Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join Primary Care Liaison Team (PCLS) team in BaNES following the departure of the current post holder.
The Primary Care Liaison Team , based at Hillview Lodge, acts as part of the 24 hour `front door' service which receives referrals from GPs in Bath and surrounding areas. The Team operates from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. The Team work closely with the Hospital Liaison, Intensive, Inpatient, Early Intervention and Recovery Teams, all located on the same site at the Royal United Hospital, Bath.
Later Life community services are also based at the Royal United Hospital, Bath, whilst their Inpatient services are provided at Hillview Lodge, Bath. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced colleague who provides Later Life input to the PCLS.
This post is currently advertised as 10 PAs but 8 PAs may also be considered.
Main duties of the job
As the post holder you will provide clinical leadership in the team, help triage referrals, assess patients and make recommendations on care, advise colleagues on assessment and management, provide clinical supervision and management supervision for doctors reporting to them. This post is supported by a 0.6 WTE Specialist Psychiatrist within the PCLS Team as well as GP trainee in the Hospital Liaison Service.
o The post holder will deliver direct interventions to service users at a level of intensity according to need including those service users who require an assertive approach who are difficult to engage. This will include on-going assessment, diagnoses (including review and clarification) and treatment of mental and physical health needs.o The consultant will be expected to answer medication queries from GP's via a specific e-mail advice line.o Work collaboratively with the Recovery, Intensive and Inpatient Services to facilitate transitions through the care pathway according to the identified care cluster.o Responsible with the team members for the identification of appropriate care cluster and identifying service users who require access to specialist serviceso Understand and participate in the maintenance, monitoring and evaluation of service specific performance indicators and targets.o The Consultant will also be expected to provide leadership to their Teamo To provide advice to members of the Multi-Disciplinary Teams in the PCLS Team.

- MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
