Job summary

This is a great opportunity for an experienced CPN to join the AWP Specialist Community Eating Disorder Team. The service is benefitting from new investments, which makes it an exciting time to join the expanding team. There will be ample opportunities for training, service development and leadership. The team provides quality care to people living with an eating disorder in Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset. We are looking for an individual who has an interest of working with people who present with an eating disorder. They will carry a caseload and provide supervision to junior members of the team and support the management team in areas of Service Development. The successful candidate will be well supported by the service.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to:

Act as an autonomous practitioner within the Eating Disorder Service with responsibility for a clinical caseload using the Care Programme Approach that includes some of the Services, more complex Service Users.

Accept and assess patients referred to the service

Be responsible for developing packages of care to meet highly specialised needs of the client group.

Have an excellent working knowledge of medical implications of eating disorders ensuring good medical monitoring and interpretation of results.

  • Formal post graduate diploma level qualification in a relevant field such as CBT or Clinical Leadership, or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge gained through practice and a willingness to complete on the job training
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a complex caseload, demonstrating excellent risk assessment and management skills
  • Experience in supervising other staff members including colleagues of other professions and grades.
  • Good in depth working knowledge of medical implications related to eating disorders.
