Job summary

Come and join the Swindon Psychological Therapies Service (PTS), working with adults of working age. This role is suitable for either a newly-qualified psychologist, or someone with post-qualification experience. We are a flexible employer and there will be opportunities for blended site-based and home working options.

The post holder will work as part of our provision for people with a diagnosis of Personality Disorder, and be an active member of our DBT team. The successful applicant will be highly motivated to provide a good quality, evidence based psychological service and will have experience of working with individuals with complex psychological difficulties.

You will provide specialist assessment, formulation and evidence based psychological intervention to a caseload of service users, referred to the Swindon Psychological Therapies Service (PTS). Many of the service users we work with have a history of significant trauma and in many cases will carry a diagnosis of Personality Disorder. You will be an active member of the Swindon DBT team, working alongside experienced colleagues to provide all aspects of the programme, including co-facilitation of the DBT skills group.

Main duties of the job

Our team is co-located with the Swindon Recovery team. The role will involve working closely with colleagues from Recovery, to advise on suitability for referral for specialist psychological therapy, and to inform their work with service users.

Swindon PTS comprises a supportive team of Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists, CBT Therapists, a Family Therapist and Arts Psychotherapists. We have established links with local training providers in Clinical & Counselling Psychology, and all PTS staff have access to regular activities to support their ongoing professional development.

We work closely with the local Recovery Team, offering consultancy and supervision in the delivery of psychological interventions. We offer a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, CFT, EMDR and Family Therapy. The Recovery Team have also been implementing Structured Clinical Management (SCM), with support from PTS colleagues.

The team has a strong emphasis on promoting staff wellbeing, including a monthly wellbeing sessions and fortnightly Compassion Focussed Staff Support sessions.
