Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative psychologist interested in the opportunity to gain experience, knowledge and skills working in our Later Life Mental Health Service in South Gloucestershire.
Professionally, the post holder will be part of a larger group of clinical psychologists within the Trust wide later life psychology service and have the opportunity to work alongside the well established South Gloucestershire Psychological Therapies Service, providing access to supervision, CPD and training in a range of psychological therapies, including CBT, MBT, EMDR, Family Therapy and Psychodynamic Models.
Our team is based at the Kingswood Civic Centre, South Gloucestershire, which borders Bristol, and has good links to Bath, The Cotswolds and Wales. The therapies team is located alongside the Later Life CMHT, Dementia Enhanced Support Team and Care Home Liaison Team. You will be part of the Later Life Therapies Team, which is made up of Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Support Staff. We actively support staff development, training and well-being.
There is also a Part Time 22.5 hour per week post available.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of an experienced multi-professional team and have excellent opportunities to develop your skills in psychological therapy and neuropsychological assessment and interventions. You will also have the opportunity, through joint working, consultation, training and service development, to support multi-professional colleagues and external agencies to deliver psychologically informed care, in line with the aims of the Community Mental Health Framework. You will be well supported by the senior clinical psychologist based within this service.
The service has good links with the clinical psychology training courses in the South West and welcomes applications from candidates interested in pursuing opportunities in clinical research.
The hours are shared across two posts advertised; we welcome applications from those wishing to work full time/part time/job share or flexible working arrangements.

To provide a psychology service to the designated team including assessment and therapy both for individuals and groups as appropriate.
To provide a specialist consultancy service to multidisciplinary teams and other agencies providing care for the client group.
To participate in generic team duties as agreed by the operational manager and Psychology Lead as appropriate, to the needs of the service.
To participate in clinical and caseload supervision arrangements provided by the Psychology Service.
To maintain accurate records and to monitor clinical workload using agreedsystems.
To ensure timely recording of all data required by the Trust.
To support the full implementation of CPA acting as care co-ordinator asappropriate to the needs of the service.

This to include joint assessment with care co-ordinators, formulation of psychological problems and planning of interventions to be implemented by care co-ordinators or other team members with service users.
To provide training and supervision to Band 4 psychologists, work experience placements and trainees (alongside main identified supervisor).
To collaborate with colleagues to develop and offer training courses, workshops and supervision groups to develop skills in psychological interventions.
To contribute to the teaching of students and trainees in psychology, medicine, nursing and other health care disciplines.
To agree a plan of personal development with the Psychology Lead and the post holders line manager.
