Job summary

A rare opportunity has come up for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our dynamic team of skilled psychological practitioners in South Bristol.

We seek someone passionate about working with complex presentations, including psychosis and trauma, offering evidence based approaches to clinical work alongside excellent supervision/training for Support and Recovery staff and colleagues. The opportunity for further training in CBTp can form part of this role.

The Complex Psychological Interventions team (CPI), are part of Bristol Mental Health. CPI offers a range of activities to support psychologically informed care within the secondary mental health service. With strong presence in the Support and Recovery and Crisis teams, we have a unique identity as a group of highly skilled and respected professionals who liaise with senior Bristol management, and meet monthly, city-wide.

CPI comprises multidisciplinary professions, including Clinical Psychologists, Arts Psychotherapists, Medical Psychotherapists & Specialist Nurses. We provide support to staff teams in addition to clinical work, designed to both enhance interventions and support staff wellbeing.

The South Bristol Recovery team are compassionate, diverse & forward thinking mental health practitioners, in a geographical area of high deprivation & need.

Main duties of the job

You will provide specialist assessment, formulation, intervention and evaluation, alongside staff training, supervision, consultation, advice and support to the South Bristol Recovery team. You will also provide clinical and/or management supervision to more junior CPI staff, placements to Clinical Psychology trainees and engage in service development work as appropriate.

To work within the Assessment & Recovery Services, it is essential for you to have experience of delivering therapy to this client group, and to have been trained in NICE guideline interventions (e.g. DBT, CBT etc). You will need excellent interpersonal skills to support the development of psychological thinking and intervention within multidisciplinary teams. Experience of delivering supervision and training would be essential.

We are especially (though not exclusively) interested in people with training and experience in CBT and CBTp as we are now supervising team staff undertaking further Health Education England funded training in these evidence based areas.

PROFESSIONAL
