Job summary
Poppy ward is a twenty bed in patient unit in the heart of scenic Wiltshire. In a recent CQC report we were rated as good and the ward has been making great strides to modernize and has signed up to several initiatives to reduce restrictive practice, increase patient centeredness and was selected out of the whole country by the CQC to take part in a sexual safety initiative.
Green Lane hospital sits between the historic monuments of Avebury, Stonehenge and the glorious Roman city of Bath. Devizes is a market town with a thriving caf culture and has excellent transport links sitting on the M4 corridor. We are only twenty minutes from Swindon, thirty minutes from Bath and just forty minutes from Bristol.
The successful candidate would have a central role in maintaining the initiatives on Poppy and to continue its forward focus. They would be supported a by a very enthusiastic and dedicated team. The post would include acting up and shift leadership as well as the management of junior staff. Poppy ward has the benefit of a psychologist, physiotherapist, ward consultant and a wide range of nursing skills and is looking for someone who can compliment the Multi discipline nature of the ward team.
Main duties of the job
The deputy ward manager would be responsible for providingLeadership in the wards, focusing on developing staff, quality improvement, learning from incidents and complaints and supporting the multi-disciplinary team in the management of complex cases.
We are looking for candidates who have experience working in teams delivering patient centred care, and who are passionate about improving services. We are committed to working in partnership with service users and carers and co-producing service improvement.

To review and improve the clinic, patient care and experience in an inpatient setting
Ensuring that Safe wards and Reducing restrictive practice is fully implemented and constantly reviewed and adapted on the ward
Looking and exploring different options between patient discharge and input from the community services
To work closely with the Ward Manager to review staff wellbeing and moral, to continue to improve the culture and teams growth on the unit.
To complete community meetings, and regular meetings with the patients to discuss ideas that have been implemented and to seek feedback and suggestions from there own lived experiences.
To oversee the student on the ward, and working with the Ward Manager on the new student project
Being involved in the reducing suicidality, and reducing sexual safety collaborations
