Job summary
The North Somerset Recovery Team are looking for a full time non-medical prescriber to join the team on a 2 year secondment (internal applicants)/fixed term contract (external applicants) and work alongside our Consultant Psychiatrists and Speciality Doctor. This opportunity has arisen due the current post holder undertaking the 2 year MPAC training programme.
The North Somerset Recovery Team are a friendly supportive team who are passionate about improving the lives of service users with complex mental health needs by providing high quality recovery focused interventions.
The Team are based at the Coast Resource Centre in Weston-Super-Mare, just 5 mins from junction 21. As part of the role you will be required to travel to and work from the locality bases in Weston-Super-Mare and Clevedon, and visit service users in the community and use on line video platforms.
To apply for this post you will need to be an independent non-medical prescriber who is a current professionally registered healthcare practitioner (not a doctor) who has undertaken the accredited training programme in non-medical prescribing, and who is able to function in this role within his/her own area of expertise.
Main duties of the job
This post will suit an enthusiastic, driven, motivated and flexible NMP with experience of independent prescribing and preferably experience of working as a CPN in a clinical setting. Arrangements for Consultant support and prescribing supervision are in place.
The post holder will be required to engage in CPD including a mix of self-directed learning and mentored practice.
The post holder will be required to formulate, implement and evaluate treatment plans working in collaboration with the service user, carers and the multi-disciplinary team. There will also be an expectation to undertake reviews for service users who meet criteria medications such as: Clozapine, Lithium and newer depot preparations
You will work closely with our specialist physical health care practitioners ensuring that service users have their physical health needs met and that appropriate annual health checks are carried out.
