Job summary
An exciting and rare career opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and enthusiastic Dietitian to join the Community Eating Disorder Service. The Community eating Disorder service is a multi-disciplinary team that works closely with the Specialist Inpatient Unit - Clifton Ward. As a service STEPS is highly regarded by commissioners and Service Uses alike and was awarded Team of the Year by the Trust in 2014 and won the Services User/Carer choice award at the Trust Awards in 2018. You should have significant post-qualification experience and have worked within a range of inpatient and outpatient settings. You need to be enthusiastic and interested about working with Eating Disorders and be keen to continue your professional development within this diverse and specialist field of work. The successful candidate to this post will be provided with excellent training and supervision opportunities within this exciting and challenging role. This vacancy is for 0.5 WTE (18.75 hours per week) currently based at Acer Unit, Blackberry Hill Hospital, Bristol.
Main duties of the job
To assess, plan implement and evaluate specialised dietetic interventions for people with Eating Disorders in community and inpatient settings
2. To manage complex and challenging caseloads and be able to appropriately prioritise by need
3. To maintain accurate patient clinical records and statistics according to Trust policy and professional guidelines
4. To be an active member of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT)
5. To work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, clients, family and carers and other relevant agencies
6. To be current with all mandatory training and seek out opportunities for continuing professional development
Managerial:
1. To be responsible for the local organisation and coordination of clinical supervision of the Eating Disorders Nutrition and Dietetic Team
2. To represent the Nutrition and Dietetics team at Trust meetings as necessary
3. To be involved in writing policies, guidelines and protocols for the Eating Disorders Nutrition and Dietetics Team
4. To lead the administrative tasks for the team
5. To be involved in recruitment and selection of staff
6. To be involved in the on-going completion of staff supervision and annual appraisals
