Job summary
We are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner to join our CAMHS Team based at Knowle Clinic.
This is a fixed term maternity cover post. The South Bristol team is a busy thriving inner city CAMHS team that is passionate about delivering highly effective and accessible services to the young people and families of South Bristol.
The team is a well established multi disciplinary team offering evidence based interventions. The team are a diverse team and are committed to staff development and staff well being with excellent supervision and CPD opportunities. We offer established specialist clinics such as family therapy, CBT, psychotherapy , specialist eating disorder clinics and assessment clinics alongside staff working autonomously holding there own caseload. We have regular reflective groups and process groups to support with the clinical work.
Main duties of the job
Managing own caseload from referral to discharge, holding medium to high risk cases working autonomously and with the wider MDT.
Providing a specialist assessment, and evidence based treatment service to children, their families or their professional carers, referred to CAMHS team.
Providing reports and maintain written records of assessments, clinical interventions and meetings.
Working to a job plan and participate in Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA) in the delivery of Tier 3 CAMHS. This will include specialist assessments and evidence based treatment for children, adolescents and their families.
Working with children, young people and their families promoting opportunities for their engagement and involvement in formulations and care plans and evaluation of the service they receive.
Ensuring throughput of clients and to create regular assessment slots in work schedule. To work closely as part of the multi-disciplinary CAMHS team.
Liaising with other disciplines and agencies to ensure the best practice is shared.
Travelling to other sites and clinics, to schools and to the child's home
Be part of a highly skilled and developed multi disciplinary team.
Participating in suitable clinical supervision (as provided) and ensure that time is available to undertake this effectively.
Having excellent engagement skills with young people.
Being computer literate.
