An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy Service based at Chatsworth House, Swindon. The professional service provision covers Acute and Rehab in-patient ward as well as Community Recovery Team for adults of working age. This gives a unique opportunity to work across both settings, ensuring continuity of high quality care and a high level of professional work satisfaction.
Our multidisciplinary team across the In-patient and Community Recovery Team services consists of psychology, psychotherapy and art therapy, occupational therapy and medical staff; dietician, nursing health care assistants, advocacy team, housing and community support workers. We work in collaboration to provide appropriate treatment to people experiencing mental health difficulties. This is aimed to be achieved within the community and to the individuals, whose acute health care needs cannot be managed within their own homes, further care in delivered on the inpatient wards according to Mental Health Act (1983). As an organisation, we believe that delivering person-focused care is central to helping our service users improve in their mental health, recover independence and return to their community.
Main duties of the job
You will deliver Occupational Therapy process of assessment, intervention and evaluation with the use of relevant guidelines and legislations and with application of up to date and evidence based practice. You will be line managed by Lead Occupational Therapist and you will be expected to be an active and involved member of the MDT team. You will be offered regular supervision, opportunities for Continued Professional Development and opportunity to contribute to further development of our services.
