Job summary
Would you like to join a growing team and be part of expanding and transforming services for those who have complex emotional needs/a diagnosis of personality disorder? As a result of transformation funding, we are developing a range of group and individual interventions aimed at young adults between the ages of 18 and 25. In order to continue to develop this model we are looking for four enthusiastic and motivated Psychologists or Psychological Therapists to join our team.
The principal purpose of the job is to provide assessment, formulation and treatment capacity. You will be provided with training including DBT essential skills. You will also be encouraged to develop specialist knowledge in working with service users who may present in other services (for example eating disorders or early intervention in psychosis).
There is also an opportunity to train in and be part of a large national randomised control trial of Structured Psychological Support (SPS). You will be provided with regular supervision and ongoing CPD adherent with these structured programmes. We are also being allocated training places in MBT, CBT-PD and CAT. Trainings will initially be allocated in-line with the part of the pathway you would be immediately working into.
This work will be supported by the existing personality disorder pathway team (Clinical Lead, Senior Psychologist for 18-25, 3 x B7 specialist practitioners) and existing staff within Core teams.
Main duties of the job
Improving the psychological health and wellbeing of people within the post holder's specialist field of practice, being individuals 18-25 with complex emotional needs.
Ensuring the systematic provision of a high-quality therapy service in a specialist field of practice, across an identified area, as a key component of integrated mental health and wellbeing services across the BSW Integrated care system.
To be responsible for the coordination of services and to promote effective liaison between agencies.
To be responsible for the development of specialist care interventions and care plans.
To support other members of the MDT with training in mental health best practice to support delivery of appropriate and effective care.
To work collaboratively with other clinicians and practitioners within with wider health, social care and voluntary sector communities as appropriate.
To carry a specialist caseload of clients and providing advice and consultancy to patients and professionals and complex assessments.
To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychotherapy/therapy practice within professional and Trust guidelines as a clinical specialist.
To promote collaboration and new ways of working across a wide variety of statutory and non-statutory organisations.
