Job description

Job responsibilities

The successful applicant will be a Practitioner Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/CBT Therapist or Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/CBT Therapist with clearly demonstrable skills and knowledge in working with people throughout the adult age range, but adults of working age in particular. For this Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/CBT Therapist role you will be able to demonstrate experience of working with a number of different client groups in secondary mental health settings, and of having been responsible for providing specialist assessments and interventions. You will need to be able to demonstrate clinical leadership, and innovations that have improved services in which you have worked. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a knowledge of trauma, and how psychological trauma can impact on the care we provide.

As the provision of supervision, consultation and training to other colleagues within the service is both highly valued and an essential part of the role, being able to demonstrate skill and experience in this area would be an advantage. We would particularly value experience and/or training in CBT, EMDR, or NET, as these models have the greatest evidence base for trauma and PTSD.
