Job summary
We're seeking a collaborative, inspired individual to join
our Board with accountability for clinical quality, medical
leadership and transformation plans.
Having secured additional investment, this
will allow us to improve clinical care, and to recover ambulance response time
standards through increasing our operational and Emergency Operations Centre
workforce. The expectation is we deliver results rapidly, as the investment is
non-recurrent, and not guaranteed for 2023-24.

Main duties of the job
The
Medical Director is a professional member of the Trust Board, with shared
responsibility for corporate leadership, strategic development and planning and
governance of the Trust.
The post holder is primarily responsible for the
provision of expert strategic clinical advice to the Chief Executive and to the
Board of Directors on all professional medical issues in relation to the urgent
and emergency care agenda across the health community and lead clinical
collaboration within the organisation and across the system.
The post holder will occupy a key role within the organisation
with shared responsibility with the Executive Director of Quality & Safety for
leading the strategy on clinical standards, governance and patient safety.
Fulfil the role of the Trusts Caldicott Guardian.
