Salary: £43,742 - £50,056 (Band 7) - with on-call enhancement
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Emergency Preparedness Resilience & Response (EPRR) arrangements of the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. The role must manage & ensure that NEAS Major Incident Plans are compatible with other Health & Emergency Service Plans to meet the statutory requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
The role will manage & assess risks associated with public events within the region which impact upon the Trusts operational area, formulating robust risk assessments to form a medical perspective on levels of medical/clinical support in conjunction with Local Authorities & other key stakeholders through Safety Advisory Group processes.
The role will involve supporting the ongoing Enhanced SORT capability by delivering training sessions to multi-agency partners of specialist topics such as MTA, CBRN and JESIP.
Managing the Trusts' capacity & preparedness to deal with a range of High Consequence Infectious Disease (HCID) as well as to manage, prepare & propose updates to Trust plans to ensure NEAS remains compliant with relevant legislation, EPRR best practice & contractual standard.

Main duties of the job
- To prepare and deliver Emergency plans for North East Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
- Support the development of the Trust Major Incident Plan ensuring it is compatible with other health and Emergency service plans and meets the statutory requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004
- To manage, plan and co-ordinate multi-agency exercises to enable the Trust to test its emergency plans and associated procedures
- Ensure readiness of all the Trust specialist incident support equipment
- To deliver Chemical, Biological, Radiological or Nuclear (CBRN) or Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) incident training
- Represent the Trust at EPRR multi-agency LRF meetings including risk management and tactical business group
- Participate in the Resilience Team on-call rota to provide specialist support and advice to incident commanders in the event of major or specialist incidents
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and manage that relationship to ensure the effective deployment of operational resources
- Manage with resilience staffing & resource issues (Special Operations Response Teams (SORT)) including their management, recruitment, performance and development.
