Job summary
The post will provide 12 months of experience in Respiratory Medicine and would be suited to candidatesable to perform at registrar-grade who are in possession of full MRCP(UK) or equivalent, and who may be contemplating a career in Respiratory or general medicine.The post is based at Southmead Hospital, North Bristol NHS Trust.This is a non-trainingpostbut the Clinical Fellows will get wide ranging clinical experience, supervised by consultant medical staff.
The post holder will bean integral member of the respiratory clinical team, providing middle grade support to the respiratory wards, in-reach respiratory referrals advice (with close consultant supervision), supervised outpatient clinics andparticipatingin the on call medical registrarrota. You will be encouraged to activelyparticipatein audit, qualityimprovementand research relevant to respiratory.
The post holder will have the opportunity to train in point of care thoracic ultrasound, pleural procedures,bronchoscopyand gain experience in delivering HDU level respiratory care.There is also opportunity to gain experience in sub-specialty respiratory medicine, including ILD, pleural disease, complex airways disease, complexinfectionand lung cancer.

Essential
- Recent experience working as a doctor in the NHS (or equivalent) within the last 2 years
- Evidence of achieving IMT2 competencies (or equivalent)
- Experience of working within general medical specialities within the last 2 years at IMT2 level as a minimum
- Passed the MRCP in full
Desirable
- Previous experience demonstrating commitment to respiratory medicine
- Previous experience working at medical registrar level within medicine
Qualifications And Registration

- MBBS or equivalent
- Maintain Full registration with the GMC
- Advanced Life support (ALS) accreditation (or booked to complete before August 2025)
