Job summary
a) Working as part of a team to provide a diagnostic laboratory service in Biochemistry in accordance with national and professional standards.
b) Provide Senior Biomedical Scientist input into the Biochemistry Automated Laboratory whilst being responsible for the day-to-day running of the Biochemistry department.
c) With other senior staff, participate in the supervision, training and development of staff in the department ensuring that competencies are completed.
d) Together with the Blood Sciences Management, develop and validate new techniques which will contribute to the development of the services provided to meet the requirement of users.
e) To ensure the promotion of awareness of users' needs and requirements throughout the laboratory organisation.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a proactive, dynamic team member to assume the role of Senior Biomedical Scientist in the Biochemistry automated laboratory.
The post holder must demonstrate effective leadership and management capabilities while working collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
Successful Band 7 candidatesMUST be registered with the HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist.
