The post holder will need to have strong leadership and managerial skills as well as the enthusiasm, vision and associated service development and negotiation skills to lead and develop the team which includes established, experienced highly specialist, specialist and rotational pharmacists. Experience in one or more of the specialties is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job
Through effective leadership and management be responsible for the efficient delivery and further development of Clinical Pharmacy Services to the specialties of Medicine and Renal. This will be achieved through established and innovative practices.
Be the line manager to an established team of Senior pharmacists for the specialties of the post.
To provide professional advice and leadership on Clinical Pharmacy Practice to the specialties you are responsible for.
Ensure that the clinical pharmacy service is provided in compliance with Medicines Legislation, the Code of Ethics of the General Pharmaceutical Council and Trust policies and procedures.
With the team you manage, identify and action drug savings for the specialties and ensure that financial intelligence is provided on a regular basis.
To ensure that medicine related governance issues are raised and addressed for the specialties.
