Now is the time for you to join our expanding forward thinking Infection Control team at North Bristol NHS Trust ., we are currently seeking to expand the team to offer a 7 day a week service .

We are looking for Two experienced nurse to join the team as a Band 6 infection control practitioner . The ideal candidate will have an interest in infection prevention and control, experience of working as an infection prevention and control nurse or a link worker is desirable but not essential.

You will have an ability to build effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. You must have the ability to work on your own initiative undertaking the day to day management of your clinical work, to be able to work with complex information and be able to demonstrate an ability to work to tight timescales.

Informal visit to the team is recommended

Main duties of the job

Preventing healthcare associated infection remains a high priority , North Bristol Trust one of the biggest Trust in the south west .

The post holder will provide clinical support regarding all aspects of Infection Prevention Control (IPC) to Trust staff, supported by the IPC Nurse team.

The Infection Control Nursing team are responsible for designated clinical areas/audits/surgical site surveillance within the infection control service.

This will involve ensuring that infection prevention and control policies are up to date and adhered to by working closely with staff, demonstrating good practice, providing education and training and managing relevant projects.
