We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic, friendly, and fast-paced Stroke team. The SSNAP Audit Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the service by extracting and interpreting clinical information from patient records and accurately entering it into the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP). This data is essential for measuring our performance against national benchmarks and identifying areas for improvement. The role requires careful interpretation of clinical notes and timely, precise data entry.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. Strong communication skills are essential, as the successful candidate will work closely with both clinical and administrative colleagues at all levels.
Excellent IT skills are also required, particularly in maintaining accurate electronic records.
Main duties of the job
The Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) is a major national healthcare quality improvement programme.
The SSNAP Audit Assistant provides vital administrative support to the stroke service, contributing to the accurate and timely collection, input, and reporting of patient data for the national SSNAP audit.
The role requires strong administrative and IT skills, with responsibilities including data entry, report generation, and maintaining accurate records using hospital systems and Microsoft applications.
The postholder will also support departmental operations through tasks such as coordinating meeting documentation.
A good understanding of patient pathways, medical terminology, and data governance is essential, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
