Physiotherapist- Static Specialty Medicine (Band 6)

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Specialty Medicine team as a permanent static band 6. This post will work within the team covering a variety of medical specialties including gastro, hepatology, infectious diseases and support the new HCID (high consequence Infectious disease unit) at North Bristol NHS Trust.

Opportunities include national networking as part of the HCID working group, managing a varied complex patient group and building on leadership skills deptuising for clinical leads when required.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing a physiotherapy service to the wards covered by the Specialty Medicine Team
  • Working effectively with all team members within the physiotherapy service, NBT and outside agencies to provide information about physiotherapy treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and Carers to progress treatment programs, provide reassurance and facilitate their care.
  • Will take an active part in our weekend rota
  • Supervise and mentor junior members of the team
  • Deputise when required in absence for clinical leads
  • Work with clinical leads to develop networks with other regional HCID centers sharing knowledge, best practice/research and developing guidelines

About us

North Bristol Trust is a major trauma centre and regional centre for high consequence infectious diseases.

The physiotherapy teams have well established CPD programs and strong supervision and wellbeing support. The senior physiotherapists regularly contribute to service development and QI projects and support junior staff , students and support workers.
