Job summary
The Bristol Urology Institute are looking to appoint a Clinical Fellow (ST3+), to commence in June 2024.
It is desirable that candidates have experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent.
All posts are regarded as being Trustwide, but the base hospital will be Weston General Hospital (Please note that the base could change as a consequence of clinical requirements)
Please note that North Bristol Trust will not pay any interview or relocation expenses.
Main duties of the job
Clinical experience
- This post is best suited to a trainee wishing to gain core urology experience. This may suit an individual wanting to apply for future ST3 Urology or CESR.
- The post holder will participate in an on call rota and will be responsible for the day to day management of ward patients.
- The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the service activities in the department.
Research
1/2 day dedicated research session is provided for all fellows. There are several ongoing research projects and fellows are expected to participate in these projects, successfully publish, as well as undertaking at least one audit project during their training.
Teaching
The Bristol Urological Institute has an active teaching programme and Fellows and Registrars are expected to actively participate in this activity.
The post holder will be available to undertake teaching sessions for medical students and junior doctors as required. In certain circumstances you may be required to cover a colleague's clinical duties in order that they may deliver teaching sessions.

The Trust has University Teaching status and is associated with both the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England.
