Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our large and busy team as a Static Band 6 Physiotherapist in Orthopaedics.

Due to the opening of our brand new Bristol Surgical Centre we have an opportunity to join our large friendly T&O team. The Bristol Surgical Centre will cover elective orthopaedic patients including elective limb reconstruction patients. There will also be opportunity to rotate within the larger T&O team to include Trauma services as well as Major Trauma Wards.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing a physiotherapy service to the elective and trauma orthopaedic wards
  • Working effectively with all team members within the physiotherapy service, NBT and outside agencies to provide information about physiotherapy treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and carers to progress treatment programmes, provide reassurance and facilitate their care.
  • Will take an active part in our weekend rota
  • Supervise and mentor junior members of the team

North Bristol Trust is a major trauma centre and regional centre for elective orthopaedics with an exciting new Bristol Surgical Centre due to open summer 2025

The physiotherapy teams have well established CPD programmes and strong supervision and wellbeing support. The senior physiotherapists regularly contribute to service development and QI projects and support junior staff , students and support workers.
