As a Control Room Operator you will monitor CCTV for safety events, detection of suspicious behaviour and traffic management, conducting scheduled CCTV camera checks. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain concentration for sustained periods will be essential.
You should display exceptional customer service skills with an excellent telephone manner whilst maintaining a high standard of professionalism and presentation. Remaining calm and professional under pressure during incidents, especially highly stressed and emotive events will be imperative.
Previous security and control room experience is essential.

- hold and maintain valid SIA and SIA CCTV licenses
- hold a full UK driving license

Main duties of the job
As a control room operator you will act as the central point of contact for the Security and Parking Officers with supervisory responsibility for the day-to-day service and deliverables.
As such you will:
- monitor CCTV for safety events, detection of suspicious behaviour, traffic management
- conduct scheduled CCTV camera checks
- ID access control and carpark permit systems, creation and activation of staff ID passes and access cards
- take the lead in coordinating the response to incidents on Trust property including undertaking investigations into suspicious behaviours or criminal activities such as theft and anti-social behaviour
- lead participation in the production of all scheduled NHS staff inductions
- enhance current security practices and processes
- work shifts across days, nights, and weekends.

- Provide a pro-active, well presented, professional, uniformed security presence for North Bristol Trust.
- Take the lead in coordinating the response to incidents on Trust property including undertaking investigations into suspicious behaviours or criminal activities such as theft and anti-social behaviour.

- Accountable for directing and guiding the team to ensure high standards of operation are maintained. Ensuring that staff complete required duties every shift, all site-specific activities, and taskings as required.
- Planning all shift activity, assigning of equipment and duties, allocation of staff breaks.
- Manage and direct the teams response to all incidents and alarms.
- Acting as primary contact during incidents, alarms, and safety events until emergency services or senior management assume control.
- Monitoring of all site alarms and systems.
- Reviewing and securing of incident footage from body worn cameras. Providing feedback and learning points to staff, ensuring that improvements are made where needed.
- Completion of full, accurate, shift handovers on digital system to oncoming Operators.
- In the event of a serious incident, responsible for raising escalations on internal systems and ensuring escalation process is followed.
- Detect and investigate any criminality on Trust property including criminal damage and theft. Investigate and record security incidents in a fair, objective, and professional manner.
- Central point of contact for fire alarm activations, liaising with Trust Departments and Avon Fire and Rescue Service as appropriate, to minimise the risk to Trust property and those that maybe potentially affected during fire incidents.
