Under the direction of senior staff, participate in the day-to-day work of the Department of Cellular Pathology, in particular,
(a) providing clerical support for multidisciplinary meetings and archive activities
(b) providing clerical support within the histology office and laboratory
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will,Be responsible for the organisation and compilation of the Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings (MDT's), including the printing and searching of the MDT list and presenting the slides/reports in the appropriate manner and within the designated time. This will include the organisation of both physical slides and reports as well as digital images and electronic documents. Be involved in the digital scanning of slides and the organisation /collation of digital cases. Maintain the filing systems for blocks, slides and other documents and materials for meetings or other purposes as requested by medical, technical or secretarial staff.

Job responsibilities

Maintaining thecomputer system to record referred cases.g) Assist in the provision of information required by other departments for referral and MDT purposes as requested by departmental staff.h) Carry out the transfer of reports received from external sites onto the departments reporting system.i) Carry out routine office duties including filing, photocopying and distribution of mailand reports.j) Acting as a liaison point for MDTs between departmental staff and/or clinicians.k) Ensuring digital images are available for the MDT.l) Use Trust system for the tracing of medical notes.m) Deal with telephone enquiriesn) Notify senior staff of all problems encountered in the performance of dutieso) Work according to the Standard Operating Procedures as documentedp) Work within established Health and Safety guidelinesq) Assist in the maintenance of files, reports and other documentsr) Participate in staff appraisal / PDP according to Trust policies and procedures
