Job summary
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled clinical/counselling psychologist to join our award-winning Trust-wide Staff Psychology Team at North Bristol NHS Trust. The post-holder will work as part of the Staff Psychology team, providing psychologically-informed support to colleagues and team-based interventions across our organisation. We would welcome applications from those in band 7 roles, or those in their final year of training on a Doctorate in Clinical / Counselling Psychology as well as from those already in 8a posts.
The Staff Psychology Team provides a range of responsive and well as pro-active support to colleagues across our Trust. The service has a particular ethos in supporting relational and team wellbeing, recognising that wellbeing and resilience are often more helpfully seen as being fostered by connections between us, not just qualities within us. The service values innovation, and the post holder will work within the team, and with key partners in other services, to co-develop and deliver interventions in response to challenges and needs of our colleagues working in different contexts.
Main duties of the job
To provide compassionate, specialist interventions to a range of healthcare staff. This may include workshops, training, reflective groups, 1:1 sessions, and other direct and indirect interventions as agreed with the Staff Psychology Team.
To develop and deliver bespoke team interventions and supporting trauma-informed care for staff with work-based trauma or at risk of this.
To routinely evaluate clinical work using quantitative and qualitative measures, and to be able to present this as needed to demonstrate the impact of the interventions; to share learnings and good practice within and outside of the Trust, e.g. for quarterly activity reports, at meetings, and conferences.
To attend and actively participate in professional meetings, supervision, and training, and to keep the Staff Psychology lead and team updated with key issues, updates, developments, and risks relating to the psychological health of staff and the organisation.
To develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders as well as relevant external organisations
As needed and appropriate, and dependent on experience, offer specialist supervision and teaching to assistant psychologists or Trainee Clinical Psychologists on placement from the local Doctoral Training Courses.
To contribute to a supportive, psychologically safe, and open climate within the Staff Psychology team, and to be committed to self-care and team care as a core part of the role
