Job summary
The purpose of the post is to provide a reception and help desk service to assist the technical staff of Clinical Equipment Services in the provision of a medical equipment repair, testing and routine maintenance service for North Bristol Trust.
To process orders and maintain stock levels at the request of technical staff.
Acting both independently and as a member of the team, the post holder will prioritise tasks and provide a professional, efficient, courteous and timely service
Main duties of the job
To provide support services to the technical staff in Clinical Equipment Services.
To provide a reception service for equipment being brought to Clinical Equipment Services for repair by staff, patients or carers.
To provide a reception service for goods and new equipment purchases being delivered to Clinical Equipment Services. Responsibility for organising and running the telephone help desk facility for equipment users reporting faulty equipment.
Order replacement consumables and spare parts as required and maintain stock levels of spare parts held in Clinical Equipment Services.
Administration support to the community manager, training co-ordinator and other service heads in the department when required.
PA support to the head of department.
Maintain accurate records of work carried out on the Medical Equipment Database in line with the requirements of the department's Quality Management System.
Use of both standard and specialised software systems to extract data and generate reports as necessary.
Carry out all work in accordance with Quality Management System procedures in operation in the department, alerting the departmental quality manager to quality issues or persistent quality problems.
To perform any other duties as may reasonably be assigned.

Clinical Equipment Services sits within the Core Clinical Services Division and provide a variety of services to North Bristol NHS Trust which include a comprehensive Medical Equipment Technical Support Service, a Medical Equipment Library and the Bed and Mattress Service.
