Performance and Operations Manager for Trauma and Orthopaedics

The Trauma and Orthopaedics department are inviting applications from experienced and ambitious candidates for the role of Performance and Operations Manager to join our successful team. We are looking for a hard-working individual who is enthusiastic and committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

The postholder will lead the operational aspects of the service and work closely with the Assistant General Manager and triumvirate team, using continuous service improvement to deliver the strategic objectives and recovery plan for our patients.

The successful candidate will have experience of providing operational service management and developing others. They will have excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with patients and internal and external colleagues.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the effective management of the inpatient and outpatient performance for Trauma and Orthopaedics within the division of NMSK.

The post-holder will:

- work closely with a range of colleagues to plan and co-ordinate resources to ensure achievement of access targets in line with Trust objectives.

- be responsible for monitoring demand for services and ensuring that the Trust achieves its key performance objectives.

- be responsible for the management of the administration teams, ensuring high quality scheduling of all elective and non-elective care for outpatients, inpatients and surgical activity, including proactive patient-level management of RTT pathways.

- ensure that patients are managed in line with Trust policies and national standards for booking. There is an expectation that the post holder will act as lead for service improvement in booking processes.

- be a budget holder for teams within the Cluster.

- be responsible for ensuring that activity undertaken in the independent sector is managed in line with the contracts.

- lead on projects and initiatives identified by the Cluster Triumvirate and the post-holder themselves.

- deputise for the Assistant General Manager on designated projects.
