Job summary

We are seeking a Physician Associate to join our excellent Breastcare team

The Physician Associate role is being developed to work alongside the Breastcare Department's clinicians. The role will give the candidate opportunity to work in a progressive Breast Department undertaking a variety of interesting and rewarding clinical tasks.They will have Educational Supervision and annual appraisal to overview their career development and mentorship.

This is a permanent post within the Breast team with good support and development opportunities. Successful candidates will take a lead on new patient clinics in the cancer pathway and have the opportunity to develop expertise in a number of other areas of interest.

The physician associate is an exciting role and applications are welcome from suitably qualified individuals that may come from a variety of backgrounds, for example nursing, AHP, radiographers or other professionals with suitable registration and qualification

Main duties of the job

The Physician Associate works alongside the clinical team in Breastcare, examining and assessing patients, interpreting symptoms and investigations, providing reassurance for benign patients, and referring on for further investigation and treatment where necessary.

They work closely with our expert team of Radiologists, Surgeons, Nursing and AHP staff as part of the MDT and completing necessary documentation relating to their patients. They will be supervised by a designated consultant and will also have individual mentors to overview their career development.

This role is in a daycase, elective, high-volume cancer focused specialty, and subsequently will provide an extremely rewarding role for a hard-working and focused candidate. The post provides exposure and experience in suspected cancer presentations to the Breastcare department and is therefore ideal for any candidate wanting to develop a career within a rewarding area of clinical practice
