Job summary

To act as a Quality Assurance Officer within the Quality Assurance and Audit Team in North Bristol NHS Trust in relation to the Quality Governance processes that support the Trust's ongoing drive to be rated as an Outstanding organisation.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide direct support to the Quality Assurance and Audit Team to facilitate and drive assurance and governance activity across the Trust. Working with colleagues to support the internal systems, processes, and activities in the service in relation to the following key workstreams:

  • Care Quality Commission
  • Clinical Documentation & Policies
  • Radar Governance
  • Clinical Audit and Effectiveness
  • Learning from Deaths
  • New Clinical Interventions

They will also support work on the core areas of responsibility for the Service.

The post holder will undertake these functions under the line management of the Quality Assurance Manager.

Job responsibilities

To act as a key support resource to the Quality Assurance and Audit Team (QA&AT) in supporting Clinical Divisions in their key governance and assurance work and the QQ&AT leads in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities

Coordinate meetings, including creating agendas, taking minutes, and maintaining action plans.

Provide high quality administrative support to the Quality Assurance and Audit Team and the overall office management function.

Assist in the delivery of high quality quantitative and qualitative documentation in the agreed timescale including:

  • Collecting and inputting data and producing reports
  • Typing and formatting documents
  • Producing templates
  • Updating spreadsheets

Maintain the Quality Assurance and Audit Team webpages and support its regular updating. You will have responsibility for elements of their content and maintenance.

Support day-to-day management of the IT systems that support our process (e.g. Radar)

Act as systems administrator for the IT systems ensuring that access levels are granted to staff in accordance with agreed parameters and that queries are resolved in a structured, timely and effective way.

Manage and prioritise allocated workload to meet strict deadlines in a continually changing work environment, including the ability to incorporate urgent projects at short notice.

Assist Quality Assurance and Audit Team colleagues with priority work and other project work as required.

In liaison with the wider quality governance teams, assist staff in reflecting and improving on service delivery and practice.

Comply with all legal, regulatory and Trust requirements

Undertake any other duties that may be required, and which are applicable to the grade of the post.

Ensure personal continuous professional development by maintaining an awareness of relevant NHS initiatives.

  • Experience and knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office suite
