NORTH BRISTOL NHS TRUST Southmead Hospital Trauma Fellow (FULL TIME)
We wish to appoint one Trauma Fellow (post CCT level) in Trauma and Orthopedics, to commence in February 2024 for 6 months.
This post is based at The Brunel Building at the newly built Southmead Hospital. The post holder will be required to work flexibly within the department.
The successful candidate will have completed all Consultant level training and hold the FRCS Orth exam or equivalent with a demonstrated interest in Trauma. It is desirable for the candidate to have a higher degree or several publications within the last 2 years. They should have already completed one post Consultant level training Fellowship.
Our Trauma fellows are expected to support the on call rota which enables an uplift of payment to:

Main duties of the job
The appointment is based within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at North Bristol NHS Trust. The Trauma service is based at the New Southmead Hospital which opened in May 2014.
About us
The North Bristol Orthopaedic Department currently delivers patient care to the local population of approximately 500,000 (pop.) and to the South West England Major Trauma Network as one of the two Major Trauma Centres. The Trust is a regional centre of Neurosurgery and Plastic surgery including the provision of than Orthoplastic service. It also provides a tertiary referral service for the South West for pelvic and acetabular fractures.
Candidates must have, or be eligible for, GMC registration that allows them to work in posts that are not recognised for training.
This post is not yet recognised for training and does not yet have postgraduate deanery approval. However, the job is educationally sound. It is desirable that candidates have experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent.

The North Bristol Orthopaedic Department currently delivers patient care to the catchment area of approximately 500,000 (pop.), which is expanding. The Trust is a regional centre of Neurosurgery and Plastic Surgery.
