Job summary

The physiotherapy department at North Bristol Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking team player to fill our Neuroscience/Neurosurgery Band 7 clinical lead post.

You will be involved in moving services forward, quality and service improvement within this pathway, working alongside the multi professional team towards the trust strategy.

As part of your role, you will be expected to be actively involved in supporting junior staff, CPD, in-service training and service development. You will have access to appropriate supervision, training and CPD alongside your appraisal.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of a leadership team delivering a high quality physiotherapy service across neuroscience including neurology, neurosurgery, neuro HDU and neuro psychiatry.

The role supports the experienced physiotherapy teams, development of therapy staff through supervision and CPD.

The post holder will provide highly specialist assessment and interventions for a complex caseload demonstrating advanced clinical reasoning skills including respiratory and tracheotomy management, spasticity management and with specific knowledge of acute neurological conditions.

They will take a lead in multi-disciplinary activities and have highly developed specialist knowledge and communicate complex condition related information to patients, relative and carers. The role will include supporting complex rehabilitation and assisting in facilitating timely discharges to be achieved by the service.

The post holder will work closely with the Clinical leadership team to support and further develop the Physiotherapy Service.

The successful candidate will also be required to participate in the emergency out of hours respiratory rota.
