Job summary

We are looking to recruit into an exciting role with the IM&T department. As an ICT Support Technician, part of the IT Service Delivery Team, this role will assist with ICT Support to all North Bristol NHS departments and all our end users.

The post holder will be required to undertake tasks in line with Standard Operating Processes and procedure documentation as required and will undertake installation and configuration work in line with the trusts process and procedures.

Main duties of the job

  • The installation and configuration of operating system software onto end user devices using a standard build process
  • The configuration of devices, including installing software, prior to their deployment
  • The physical installation of end user devices on desks and other locations throughout the trust
  • The physical movement of assets in storage locations, build workshops and across the trust
  • The upkeep of stock and asset records
  • Basic experience of working with End User Devices such as Desktop PCs, Laptops and iPads and the ability to follow procedures to undertake activities
  • A basic understanding of IT and an interest in end user devices such as Laptops, Desktops, iPads and phones would be essential
  • The post holder needs a good standard of communication and inter-personal skills
  • Proficient in Customer Service Techniques, delivering customer centric services, excellent customer service etiquette skills working in line with service procedures
  • Ability to adapt to changing workloads and to respond to changes in the priority of the work undertaken
  • Experience of working in a process driven environment and the ability to work to targets
  • Ability to collaborate with other team members and escalate issues as required
  • Understanding of managing stock, undertaking stocktakes as required and supporting the team in maintaining stock levels

Job responsibilities

  • Following processes and procedures for the build and deployment if IT equipment such as desktops, laptops, iPads and Phones etc.
  • Escalation of issues preventing the completion of assigned tasks
  • Accurately log, update and maintain the departments records and systems
  • The post holder will be required to deliver support via all delivery methods (phone, email, remote assistance and mobile support unit) when the need arises
  • Ability to cover any part of the service window on a rota basis
  • Takes ownership of customer requests and being the customer representative across the department.
  • Act with complete discretion, adherence to Trust and department policy ensuring strict confidentiality and security is maintained in relation to PID and other information handled in connection with this role.
  • Ensure all duties and tasks are undertaken in line with relevant Trust and department policies, procedures, standards and governance
  • Keeping and maintaining office space utilised by individual and team tidy, and to a professional standard which maintains a pleasant working environment for all and supports health and safety requirements.
