An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and organised person to join our Receptionist Team providing efficient administrative support on Cetral Delivery Suite within the Women & Children's Division. This job requires a highly motivated person who can work under pressure whilst dealing with sensitive issues. An excellent team player is essential.
You will need excellent communication skills, be adaptable and have the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative in a logical and methodical way but be able to multi-task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions. Flexibility and reliability is of extreme importance as is the ability to work well within a team.
Main duties of the job
To provide a reception and telephone service for delivery suiteTo ensure correct data input into the IT systemsTo assist in the provision of a clean, tidy, and smooth-running environment for mothers and theirfamilies/carersTo develop organisational skills through planning a workload and prioritising needs.To contribute to a learning environmentTo support trained staff/ward manager

There is a Consultant led Obstetric Unit, a Maternal Medicine service, including Perinatal Mental Health and Complex Care team and a Fetal Medicine service. The antenatal ward hosts a Triage, day assessment area and inpatient ward. The postnatal ward prides itself on giving the best quality postnatal care, caring for each other and the new mothers, families and babies.
There is an Alongside Midwifery Unit , a Freestanding Midwifery Unit at Cossham Hospital , and Home Birth Team. There are highly skilled midwifery teams who value the autonomy and varied responsibilities of these areas.
The Maternity services are well renowned nationally and internationally, having created and developed PROMPT and has a wide research portfolio. Room 10 is a truly multi-disciplinary hub room on the central delivery suite which demonstrates the value of working alongside others with professionalism and safety.

To keep up to date with all relevant policies/ procedures and local guidelines ensuring that high standards are maintained.To welcome patients, relatives and visitors onto the ward and maintain the security and safety of patients alwaysTo provide a reception service to all who wish to enter the wardTo admit and discharge patients on the computerised hospital system and ward admission book ensuring accurate patient details are recorded.To regularly update the ward state on the whiteboard i.e. booking beds and dischargesTo liaise with other members of the ward team as required.To take full responsibility for developing own practice.To attend personal performance reviews.To work as part of a ward team.
